What HMRS does

Three kinds of call, one contractor

Emergency

The emergency, right now

Water is still running, or the building is open to weather. Dispatch is answered live at any hour and you are told a real attendance window rather than a number chosen to win the call. Extraction in the first hours decides how much structure has to come out later.

Property manager

Type 2 and Type 3 asbestos capability under O. Reg. 278/05, designated substance surveys that satisfy section 30 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, after-hours dispatch, and a closeout package that can be passed upward without being rewritten. Fully insured; the certificate, WSIB clearance, and training records come as a vendor package on request.

Adjuster

The adjuster who needs the file to hold

Moisture readings logged across the dry-down rather than one reading at the end, photo progress from day one, contents documented as the work happens, and scope changes raised when they are found rather than at invoicing.

Service area

Ottawa · Gatineau · Kanata · Nepean · Barrhaven · Orleans · Stittsville · Gloucester · Vanier · Eastern Ontario

Based at 250 City Centre Ave, Unit 238 in Ottawa. Most of the building stock in the older parts of the city predates 1990, the practical dividing line for whether a wall opened in an emergency is likely to contain asbestos.

Common questions

01Does HMRS respond outside business hours?

Yes. Dispatch is answered 24 hours a day, including overnight, weekends, and through storm events. A trade opening a wall at 11pm in an occupied building is a normal case rather than an exception.

02What areas does HMRS cover?

Ottawa, Gatineau, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orleans, Stittsville, Gloucester, Vanier, and Eastern Ontario.

03Is HMRS a franchise?

No. HMRS is an independently operated Ottawa company. Calls reach the company directly rather than a national call centre creating a ticket for a local operator to action later.

04Does HMRS work with property managers on multiple buildings?

Yes. Portfolio work is scoped per building, with documentation a property manager can pass upward without rewriting it. Multi-unit water losses are a large share of the work.

05Can HMRS handle both the remediation and the rebuild?

Yes. Running removal and reconstruction on one file removes the handoff where a rebuild trade arrives with no record of what was behind the wall and no clearance documentation.

06Is HMRS insured?

Yes, fully insured. A certificate of insurance is provided on request as part of the vendor package rather than published on the site.
